Lung Mesothelioma Asbestos

Cancer mesothelioma, which is divided into three according to the area infected by each of these, it is usually caused by inhaling asbestos particles in the workplace. The three types are pleural mesothelioma (the mesothelium surrounding the influence of lung cavities), peritoneal (found in the lining of the abdomen) and pericardial (which attacks the heart chambers). The first attacks the lining of the lungs, also known asbestos lung cancer mesothelioma, affecting the lungs and sinuses caused by asbestos.

The pleural mesothelioma is definitely a life threatening illness. Also possible that the infection spreads to the lungs in length and should be eliminated. While asbestos fibers settle in the pleural lining. That leads to certain harmful chemical reactions resulting from cell division. Pleural effusion and thickening of the layer is simple obstruction of movement of the lungs, causing breathing difficulties. The infection can last for years and decades to reach this advanced stage.

Diagnosing mesothelioma is not easy, especially if the doctor treating the case is not an efficient person. Diseases caused by Asbestos

Asbestos mainly affects the lungs and lining of the lungs, the pleura. Asbestos causes two main types of diseases: cancer and asbestosis.

Asbestosis

Breathing high levels of asbestos fibers have long or short exposure to high levels of asbestos can cause scarring lesions that appear in the lung and pleura. This disease is called asbestosis, lung was the first disease that was associated with asbestos and can cause disability and death.

It is defined as diffuse interstitial fibrosis of the lungs resulting from exposure to asbestos dust and, therefore, commonly occurs in workers exposed to asbestos. The Asbestos Cancer Uncovered

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

British scientists say they developed a more accurate test to detect mesothelioma cancer linked to asbestos exposure. This disease, which attacks the cells of the pleura, the membrane lining the lungs develop long after exposure to the material. And when detected patients often have a short life expectancy. The new test, developed by researchers at the University of Oxford, discusses the levels of a protein linked to cancer in the fluid around the lungs.

According to experts, the research published in American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (American Journal of Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care) – will help doctors more accurately diagnose the cause of abnormalities in the lungs.

Construction malignant

Mesothelioma is a very difficult cancer to treat due to its location as the tumor does not seem to respond well to chemotherapy.

The disease can strike people who have no history of exposure to absesto, but overall, it is known that the main risk factor is the inhalation of mineral dust free.
